List of ways to watch Indian Live TV in US & abroad
YuppTV is probably the best and biggest online platform for Indian Live TV channels and movies. Yupp TV is officially started for Indians living abroad, as there are very few media options for them. YuppTV covers regional shows and live TV channels of over 10 Indian languages.
The service has different monthly packages varying according to the number of channels and the language. The basic package for Hindi starts from $99/year, which includes more than 25 most popular TV channels including Star Plus, Zee TV, Colours and Sony TV. A 2 week free trial, is also there for new subscribers to check out the service.
The best part about the service is that Yupp TV is supported in a lot of streaming boxes like Xbox, Roku, PlayStation which is pretty rare for any Indian service in USA. Along with these devices, Yupp TV also have their own streaming box and a streaming dongle. You can also access Yupp TV on your mobiles, tablets by downloading Yupp TV app, compatible to your operating system.
Ditto TV is a service similar to Yupp TV, the service was started by Zee Network which is one of the disadvantage that you don’t have any variety of live channels to select from. The service only offers Zee Network channels, along with some other titles which are not much popular.
One other thing which is offered by this service is a list of free movies and TV shows available for free along with your subscription. The service costs $6 a month and $1 for a day if you want the service for a shorter duration.
Hotstar is also a good platform to watch the shows of Star Network and its subsidiaries. Hotstar is a new online streaming service started by Star India, the service telecasts all the shows of Star Plus and other related channels a little while later they are telecasted.
The service is free of, although there is a premium version but all the Indian and regional shows are for free. Along with the mellow dramas, Hotstar also serves a lot of live cricket leagues, Kabaddi, Hockey and few other sports leagues like IPL, IHL, ProKabaddi etc.
Hotstar is an Indian platform so you might need a VPN to access the service as it might be geo-restricted in your region. But using a VPN service for Hotstar is worth it, cause you don’t have to pay anything for the service itself. Hotstar also has separate for android and iOS.
4. Sling TV
Sling TV is a very popular live TV streaming service in US and many other countries. Sling TV works on live TV streaming business model which has a basic cost of $20 a month for basic english channels popular in US. Sling TV has a lot of additional packages which you can add to your basic plan and few of those plans include Indian Regional Channels like Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, Bangla, Urdu etc.
One other advantage of using Sling TV is that it is already an established service in foreign countries, so it will be very easy to find supporting devices for Sling TV, although it supports almost all the mainstream streaming media players, gaming boxes and dongles.
Willow TV for Cricket :-
Cricket is a game which is not much popular in Western Subcontinents. especially in North and South America, you might find trouble in finding Cricket on your cable or internet. The best option to watch cricket in those regions is Willow TV.
Willow TV has official contracts with ICC and all the major cricket boards around the world for live telecast of almost all the major international tournaments. Willow TV is available as a Sling TV extension or as a separate app, which gives you access to live Cricket in HD.
Watching Cricket in European countries is not a big problem as Cricket is very much popular over there and you can easily find live matches on Sky Sports Networks or BEIN Sports Networks etc..
Last but not the least, YouTube is also a very good source to watch Indian TV shows abroad. There are a lot of Indian TV networks who constantly upload the latest episodes of their TV shows on their personal YouTube channels. Now all you have to do is that you have to subscribe their channel and you will get constant updates about every episode of your favorite show.
Apart from these there are few other Indian live TV services like Jadoo TV and Zeefamily.TV which are also decent platforms for Hindi movies and TV shows.
