Where will CordCutters watch NFL This Year
The playoffs of the most popular battle of the United States “The National Football League” have started, and the game is on, but live sports have always been a big drawback for the Cordcutters. Live sports has always been a deciding factor in the Cord Cutting decision, and one of the major reasons, why sports lovers are still paying for all those unwanted channels. But you don’t have to worry about this anymore, here is a list of both free and paid platforms to watch Live NFL online. So enjoy this football season with live streaming, as you don’t have to worry about those heavy bills anymore!
List of Free Platforms to Stream live NFL online
Mobdro is an android application which offers you live TV channels streaming, and that too free of cost!!!! Mobdro’s channels catalog include all the channels (ESPN, NBC, CBS and more)which you are going to need, in order to watch the complete season of NFL 2016.
Guys, for now app is available for android users but Windows and Mac users can also use this app with the help of Android simulators. I have created separate guides for all the platforms including laptops and tablets, so you can visit directly to the step by step installation guide for your personal platform. In my opinion Mobdro is the best and only free option to watch good quality NFL games online, for free obviously.
Free NFL on Twitter
This year social media giant Twitter has won streaming rights of 10 games of NFL in a tough fight against Facebook, Yahoo, Amazon and Verizon. All the 10 games are free for streaming but only if you are not a citizen of USA, as NFL has already sold all its streaming rights in USA. But there is a way to circumvent this situation which includes, simply changing your IP with help of VPNs.
Verizon Mobile App
Verizon Mobile App is the most amazing service to watch all the matches of NFL live online. The service is available for Mobiles and Tablets only, and only Verizon’s subscribers can enjoy the free streaming. All you need to do is to download the Verizon Mobile App and you are set to watch live NFL online. Anyone iOS, Android or Windows user can download the app but in order to access the service you need to provide your Verizon Subscription details. The service provides all the matches (Playoffs, Pro Bowl and the Superbowl) for free in trade of commercials. According to me, it is the cheapest legit way to stream live NFL online.
Its been few years since CBS is offering NFL matches to a lot of NFL fans around the world. Last year CBS offered 8 NFL games (including 4 playoffs and Superbowl) for free streaming online, according to some leading news agencies, CBS has cracked a new deal with NFL in which they will offer 10 of the NFL games for live streaming, FREE OF COST. No cable or satellite subscription is required for availing this offer. You just need to visit the official CBS Sports page only.
Ask your Friends
Its really not a very difficult task to find a friend or family member around you, who is already a cable or satellite TV subscriber. So what you can do is, ask for his Cable subscription ID and password and enjoy live streaming of all the matches on their respective network online. What most networks do is that, along with the cable TV networks, they also gives you the access to all your paid networks through online medium. So you can easily access any live content on those networks by logging in with the cable subscription ID and password, you borrowed.
List of Paid Platforms to watch live NFL Online (Without Cable)
1. NFL Pass
NFL Pass is best and only legit way to watch each and every match (including the Playoffs, The Pro Bowl and the Superbowl) of the championship in HD quality. Not only this, the game pass also gives you the access to a lot of games from the previous seasons (2009-2015) with no additional charges. The game pass also gives you access to another great service NFL Redzone, to stay connected to every touchdown of the game ON and OFF the field.
The cost to access the streaming pass of whole season is $99 (one time pay). There is no monthly subscription or pay-per-match based package, but there is a free 7 days trial, which will allows you to access all the benefits of the paid version for free. The free trial is for the new subscribers only. Yes, you can create multiple profiles to access more than one free trial, also last year there was a mid season pass for around $85, so what you can do is use some free trials and then buy the mid season pass.
The deal must be fascinating for a die hard NFL fan, but nothing is perfect and like everything, NFL game pass also has a drawback. The service doesn’t offers you to stream live NFL online, you can watch the full match a few hours later the actual timings. This is the pact, NFL has signed with the other NFL broadcasters across USA, (while you can listen to the live audio of the match), although there is a less legit solution of this problem.
NFL Game Pass International
NFL International Game Pass is the pass for the NFL viewers outside of USA. The service offers live streaming of all the NFL matches in more than one screen simultaneously. So rather than watching in less legal platforms you can simply use the International Pass, along with a VPN (Virtual Private Network) and enjoy the live action.
2. Monday Night Match Ticket on ESPN
ESPN offers live streaming of Monday Night Match Ticket for its NFL fans, but before that you need to subscribe for service which includes ESPN in their channels catalog. The major services which provide ESPN are Sling TV, Play Station Vue and USTVnow.
ESPN on Sling TV, PlayStation Vue and USTVnow
Sling TV is a monthly subscription based service which offers its subscribers to stream a number of popular Cable subscription channels and ESPN is one of them. The service costs $20 per month and comes with a Sports Extra Addon for $5/month.
Just like Sling TV, PlayStation Vue is also a monthly Subscription service which offers live streaming of ESPN along with a lot of other cable subscription channels. The service is great a bit expensive $50/month, and if you are going to use it for ESPN then I think sling TV is a better option.
The last service USTVnow is a service developed for the USA military persons, living outside of USA but can be accessed by anyone as there is no inquiry procedure. The service offers 7 of the major USA channels for free streaming, but unfortunately ESPN is not one of them. So for ESPN you need a subscription plan which costs around $30 per month.
All the 3 services mentioned above supports almost all the main stream online streaming devices, so you can easily connect them to your televisions and enjoy live NFL on big screens.
Direct TV Sunday Ticket
Another way to watch live NFL online is Direct TV. I know what you are thinking is that Direct TV is a satellite service, and you will require a satellite subscription to access live NFL. But here’s the catch, last year Direct TV has launched a Sunday ticket pass for live streaming of NFL Sunday Matches. According to the company, this offer is only for the regions where Direct TV is not available or the households where a satellite service cannot be provided (like apartments and buildings), but practically a lot of address are eligible, you can simply test yours on their website.
The cost of the service varies according to your plan, there are 3 plans and cheapest one is of $199 for complete season. The difference in different plans and pricing is the number of device support. The $199 plan support mobile apps, tablets and PCs. Direct TV also has a good discounts for student who want to stream live NFL online. The most expensive plan which costs around $349, is available to the students for $100 only (2015).
MSNFOXsports allows you to watch a lot of sports channels like FOX, CBS, NBC, ESPN etc. The service costs $4.95 for 7days (as a trial), and $ 20 for for an entire month. You just need to open the website link given and click on the Get NFL PASS link on the left sidebar. You will be directed to a link where you can register for the service and once you are finished with the registration procedure you can watch you favorite matches live. The service doesn’t look much legit to me as they don’t have any affiliation with NFL, but used widely for live sports streaming purposes.

Other Ways to Stream Live NFL online
Apart from all the legit ways explained above their are a lot of less legal ways which are used around the world for live streaming of sports and other media content. The motive of this article is not to promote these illegal ways and there are a lot of reasons for that –
- Unlicensed Content
- Annoying Commercial Popups
- Random Redirects to different non related pages
- Empty Links
- Poor Video and Audio Quality Content
Even after all these drawbacks these service are widely used across the world, and we can’t ignore the fact that they are free of cost. Personally I don’t recommend any of these services or platforms, but if you want here is the list.
So guys this was my list of platforms to watch live NFL online, I will surely update the list as soon as there is a new services introduce itself. If you have any other source to watch live NFL online share with the other NFL fans across the world. If you like the article and think that it was helpful, share it with your friends and family. Sharing is cool.
